  Alarms for May 17h through July 7th, 2008

July 7th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for lines down across Short Street Brookville Borough at 18:34. Utility 2 responded and performed traffic control and removed the limbs from the wire. The wire was cut and the road way was open and Utility 2 returned to station at 19:10 with 15 members present.

July 7th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched to an activated fire alarm on Walnut St. Brookville Borough at 18:14. Engine 2-17 responded to scene, contacted a key holder but found that they did not have the right key. They had to use forced entry to a basement door, the door sustained little damage. They searched the structure and found no fire, the box was cleared and Engine 2-17 returned to station at 19:05 with 16 members present.

July 4th 2008 Box 10A
Station Two was dispatched in replacement of Station Ten for a smoke investigation on Richardsville Road Pine Creek Twp at 20:09. Tanker 10 requested that Engine 2-17 go to Cemetery Road Brookville Borough to gain access from the rear side. When on scene they found a controlled burn of tires and plastics. The crew requested that next time they alert County Control. Pennsylvania State Police was notified of the incident. Box 10A was cleared and units returned at 20:50, 5 members were present.

July 4th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for an activated fire alarm at Laurel Brooke Landing Brookville Borough at 14:00. All units were cancelled but Utility 2 continued to scene, the crew assisted with helping reset the pulled alarm in the memory support unit. Utility 2 went available at 14:20 with 5 members present.

July 3rd 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched at 11:27 for an activated fire alarm. The alarm company called and cancelled all units and placed the box available at 11:30 with 8 members present.

June 30th 2008 Box 2A
Chief Two was called by Brookville Borough Police officer 926 for a transmission fluid leak at a private residence on Madison Ave. Brookville Borough at 10:15. He responded in his own vehicle to scene with oil dry. He spread 2 jugs worth of oil dry and then placed the box available at 11:00.

June 28th 2008 Box 19C
Station Two was dispatched for mutual aid for a structure fire on Rt. 36 North, Barnett Twp. at 1:33. Rescue 2 responded to scene and helped with fire suppression, Engine 2-17 hit a hydrant 1 mile north of Sigel and set up a tanker shuttle. The box was placed available at 4:30 with 12 members present.

June 27th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for a Carbon Monoxide Alarm on Clark St. Brookville Borough at 22:33. Engine 2-17 responded and arrived on scene and found no trace of any C.O. The crew left a detector with the residence for future use until they could replace their own. The box was cleared at 23:19 with 8 members present.

June 20th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for a two vehicle accident on I-80 at 10:54. It was reported that a truck hit another personal vehicle and then fled the scene. The personal vehicle sustained front end damage. Station 10 assisted at the scene. The box was placed available at 12:40 with 3members present.

June 19th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for a two vehicle accident on Allegheny Boulevard, with one south bound lane completely blocked at 18:03. Rescue 2, Utility 2, and Engine 2-12 responded to assist with patient treatment, traffic control and clean-up. One patient was taken to Brookville Hospital. The box was placed available at 18:52 with 9 members present.

June 17th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for a smoke investigation along East Main St. at 17:31. Engine 2-17 and Tower 2-18 responded and Asst. Chief 2-3 found it to be an outdoor controlled burn. The box was placed available at 17:53 with 10 members present.

Station Two was alerted for wires down endangering a structure at 9:32. Utility 2 responded and secured the scene shutting down Mabon St. Brookville Borough. Penelec arrived on scene; the box was placed available at 10:35 with 5 members present.

June 15th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for a motorcycle accident on Allegheny Boulevard at 15:31. Rescue 2 and Utility 2 arrived on scene and helped with traffic control, medical assistant, clean up. One female patient was flown from Brookville Hospital. The box was placed available at 16:15 with 11 members present.

June 12th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for a tractor trailer fire at 8:47. A tractor trailer carrying 33,000 lbs. of aluminum had the breaks catch fire. When arriving on scene the crew noticed flames showing. The crew utilized the water cannon and pumped 50 gallons of water from engine 2-12. The box was placed available at 9:30 with 6 members present.

June 12th 2008 Box 2A HH
Station Two was dispatched for an activated fire alarm at 6:50. The owner of the building called and cancelled the fire dept. before any trucks went in route. The box was placed available at 7:01 with 7 members present.

June 8th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched at 5:21 for an activated fire alarm. Engine 2-17 responded and the interior crew found the alarm panel it showed a third story activation. The interior crew searched the second and third story and found no signs of fire or overheating. The box was placed available after the search at 6:25 with 5 members present.

May 30th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for a fuel spill on White Street at 15:37. A man was filling the underground holding tanks and accidentally bumped the locking mechanism that held the hose to the truck, causing 30 gallons of gasoline to spill out. Utility 2 and Engine 2-12 responded and absorbed all fluids out of the parking lot and street and found more in a storm drain. The fuel that spilled into the drain was caught in an underground catch basin. The crew absorbed the remaining fuel and did a thorough flush out of the pipe and absorbed anymore fuel from the piping. The box was placed available at 18:13 with 9 members present.

May 29th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for a fuel spill on Allegheny Boulevard at 22:22. A car pulling out dumped the fuel from the entrance to a nearby gas station across several lanes of traffic. Engine 2-12 and Utility 2 responded and Utility 2 handled traffic control with the arrow board and the crew of 2-12 put down absorbents and cleaned the roadway. The box was placed available at 22:50 with 12 members present.

May 28th 2008 Box 6A
Station Two was dispatched for a mutual aid call for a Hazardous Material incident at 2:02. Utility 2 and SERT 2 responded to Reynoldsville and helped with the cleanup of a large diesel spill incident. The box was then placed available at 4:52 with 5 members present.

May 27th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident with no injuries or entrapment at 14:48 on Allegheny Boulevard. Engine 2-12 responded and did traffic control until the wrecker arrived and towed the vehicle away. The box was placed available at 15:40 with 8 members present.

May 23rd 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for an activated fire alarm at the Borough Complex Building at 18:26. Engine 2-17 and Tower 2-18 responded and a key holder responded and allowed the crews to do a walk through and make sure the building was secure. The alarm panel was having technical difficulties and would not reset itself. The alarm company was notified of this, the box was placed available at 19:00 with 6 members present.

May 23rd 2008 Box 10 IP
Station Two was dispatched for a mutual aid with a Hazardous Material Incident on I-80 at 14:35. Utility 2 and SERT 2 responded and supplied Station Ten with the supplies they needed to absorb the acid that was dumped out of a 55 gal. drum off of a tractor trailer. The box was placed available at 17:04 with 6 members present.

May 22nd 2008 Box 10 K
Station Two was dispatched for a mutual aid with Station Ten for a car wreck at 7:46. Engine 2-17 responded and pulled a hand line from Engine 2-17 and stood by incase of any incidents. The box was placed available at 9:01 with 4 members present.

May 21st 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for a vehicle accident at 12:27. One vehicle was off the side of the road, Engine 2-12 and Utility 2 responded and secured the scene until the wrecker towed the car away. The box was placed available at 13:26 with 4 members present.

May 18th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for a tree down on wires near a structure at 14:54. Utility 2 responded and secured the scene and blocked traffic until Windstream got on scene. The box was then placed available at 16:22 with 12 members present.

May 17th 2008 Box 2A
Station Two was dispatched for a Natural Gas Leak between Water Plant Rd. and Deemer’s Camp in Pine Creek Twp. at 11:40. It was reported to the wrong company and Chief 2 alerted county of this and placed the box in service at 11:56 with 8 members present.
