Alarms for February 1st through March 11th,
2008
Feb 1st
Brookville Pd requested Station 2 to the Brookville area
high school for an outside type fire at 2:35 Am. Engine 2-17
& Brush 2 responded to find a 10’by 10’ saw dust pile on
fire. Crew extinguished the flames and returned to quarters
at 3:07
Feb 7th Box 2-AHH was dispatched for Possible
Structure Fire at 200 Main St (Court House) Engine 2-17 and
Tower 2-18 Responded. The building was full of smoke and had
to be evacuated. Crews searched the building and found that
an elevator motor had malfunctioned causing the building to
fill with smoke. Stations 6 & 10 assisted station 2.
Station 2 was requested to standby in station at 15:17 for
stations 3 & 10 who were at a structure fire in Sigel.
Station 2 was later requested to the scene for the use of
their thermal Imager. Crew back in quarter at 16:32
Feb 9th Station 2 was requested to area of South Main
St. between the Brookville Hospital and Laurel Brooke
landing at 2:28 Am. for the smell of natural gas by
Brookville Pd. Engine 2-17 Responded and found that the
smell had gone away. Brookville Pd. Was requested to Monitor
the area. All units in service at 2:53.
Feb 11th Box 2-A dispatched at 15:03 for a MVA at 65
White St. in front of the Post Office. Rescue 2 and Utility
2 Responded Providing traffic control and clean up.
Feb 12th Sert 2 and Utility 2 requested to the 82
mile marker westbound by chief 10 to assist with a diesel
Fuel spill.
Box 2-A dispatched at 18:44 for an odor Investigation at 31
Laurel Brooke Landing. Engine 2-17 and Tower 2-18 responded.
Crew searched the building with Gas Detector, Nothing found.
Box placed in service at 19: 45
Feb 13th Rescue 2 requested to assist station 3 at
8:05 Am. with a MVA. Crews assisted with extrication of
patients. 2 units back in service at 9:47
Box 2-A dispatched at 08:35 am to provide traffic control on
I-80 at the 78 Mile marker. Station 2 was assisted by
station 10; station 2 units already out assisting station 3.
Feb 14th Station 2 dispatched at 18:46 to setup
landing zone at Brookville Hospital lower Parking lot.
Station 2 dispatched at 19:44 pm for Box 10-C working
Structure fire At 1283 Hatten Road. Engine 2-17 Responded
with full crew and assisted with fire suppression and
overhaul operations. All units in quarters 02:51 am.
Feb 15th Box 10-C alerted for a Rekindle at 1283
Hatten Road. Chief 10 Placed 2 Units Available at 19:21
Feb 17th Box 2-A dispatched at 7:49 am. For a MVA
East Bound North fork bridge. Rescue 2 and Utility 2
Responded to the alarm. Five tractor-trailers involved,
station 2 units closed down interstate and detoured traffic
trough town. Asst. 2-1 placed the box in-service at 12:30
Feb 22nd Station 2 dispatched to a turn over response
from station 7 for a MVA at 8:46 am. Rescue 2 responded and
provided traffic control and cleanup. All units in quarters
at 10:05 am.
Station 2 dispatched at 16:16 to the 80 mile marker
eastbound I-80. To Assist PSP with traffic control. All
units were in quarters 18:05.
Feb 23rd Station 2 alerted at 8:54 am for an
activated fire alarm at 50 Waterford Pike. Asst. 2-1 on
scene cancelled all units. Sweeper bag malfunctioned sending
contents of bag into air setting off fire alarm.
2nd call Assisting Station 10 with an odor investigation at
12:00. Engine 2-17 Responded, crew used gas detector. All
units in quarters 13:30 pm.
Feb 25th Station 2 assisted station 10 for a possible
structure fire at the Jefferson county jail. Tower 2-18 and
engine 2-17 responded. Crew sent to the roof to check with
thermal imager. Crew back in service at 9:55 A.m.
2nd call at 11:50 A.m. Activated fire alarm at Beverage air
Station 2 cancelled shortly after dispatch. Maintance crew
working in the area, set off the alarm.
Feb 26th Box 2-A dispatched at 8:11 am to assist
station 3 with MVA. Utility 2 Responded with arrowboard to
provide traffic control.
Feb 27th Dispatched at 11:33 For standby in station
for station 10
Feb 29th Dispatched at 14:33 For standby in station
for station 10
March 10th Station 2 dispatched at 8:41 Am. for a MVA
I-80 west bound at the 80 mile marker Rescue 2 and Brush 2
Responded to provide traffic control and clean up. Asst. 2-3
placed the box in-service at 10:01
Station 2 dispatched at 17:00 to assist station 3 with a 2nd
alarm structure fire on Route 949 south in Union Twp. Engine
2-17 Responded with a full crew and provided fire
suppression and overhaul operations. All 2 units back in
service at 17:58.
March 11th Station 2 was dispatched at 8:54 for an
activated fire alarm at Laurel Brooke . All units were
canceled shortly after dispatch. Chief 2 responded to the
scene to confirm the cancellation. All units placed
available at 9:07.
